Letter From The President

Hello Sisters –

The big news this year is … It is a Convention year and it’s HERE!  YEAH!

Start planning your calendar around volunteering for Convention events June 23 – 27.  We need YOU at anytime of the day during those 5 days.  If

 you haven’t been to a Convention, I’ve to say it is very poignant and touching – especially when you see sisters you haven’t seen since college.

The Spring Calendar is designed to encourage all sisters – from 21 – 100 – to join in; sometimes with our spouse or a friend; other times just

 sisters.  February will begin with a Bunco event in Tampa at The NoHo Bistro followed by the JDRF Walk in March for family and friends to support

 our national philanthropy.  Our IRD Chair took the time to carefully  choose a beautiful location that is also right in the middle of our Chapter’s

 geography.

And finally, we will be honored to kick-off our Convention activities with a General Membership Meeting and good old-fashioned Potluck to

 assemble our volunteers and celebration for the Epsilon Pi Banquet with as many local sisters as possible.

I challenge each of you to attend as many events this year as possible, get involved with the Hospitality Committee for Convention or Philanthropy

 Committee, and bring a new member – sister or perspective   initiate!  We can only grow with YOUR help.  Talk about Alpha Gamma Delta;

 recruit!  Remember how?  We’ll have some ideas at the May meeting.

Read the Sparkle; choose the event; GET INVOLVED AGAIN!

I look forward to seeing you at the next Alpha Gam event!

Walk to 2010 Challenge - Diabetes is affecting our members and their families and friends at an outstanding rate.  A charge has been made to each Alpha Gamma Delta sister to walk 1,000 miles - the distance from our International headquarters to Convention 2010 in Tampa - between June 2008 and June 2010.  For more information and to sign-up online go to:  http://www.alphagammadelta.org/philanthropy/walkto2010.html

SO GET OUT THERE - Lace up your shoes, grab a sister and join us as we defeat Diabetes one step at a time!

GoodSearch - What if the AGD Foundation earned a penny every time you search the Internet?  Well, now we can!  GoodSearch.com is a search engine that donates half its revenues, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate.  You can use it just as you would any search engine, and it's powered by Yahoo!, so you get great results.  Just go to http://www.goodsearch.com and enter "Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation" as the charity you wish to support!  Spread the word!
